Agency Happenings

Bowl For Kids Sake

Our very last Bowl For Kids Sake took place at Willowbrook Lanes on March 9th and 10th, and thanks to the support of sponsors, bowlers, and prize donors, this event raised over $20,000 for our agency! Thank you to everyone who made our final bowling fundraiser a great success.
Match Archery Night
Thank you to the Langley Archery Club for hosting our first ever Match Archery Night at HD Stafford Middle School. We hope that everyone who went had a great time!
Making A Giant Difference
It all started very innocently. One of the girls in our In-School program received tickets to a Giants game via a donation to our agency from the Vancouver Giants Hockey Club. Thanks to the Club's generosity, we received as many tickets as we needed to fulfill our clients' requests to several more Giants games throughout the 2017/18 season. This young girl went to every game and became a bigger and bigger fan as the season wore on. She insisted that her family arrive at the arena early so she could show the Giants signs that she made to cheer them on. The Giants got to know her and she started to collect their signatures every chance she got. Because she was now officially a super fan, her family purchased tickets to the final home game on March 18th, and she got the honour of her life from the Giants when they asked her to help present one of the 3-Star Awards to Ty Ronning! Below in her mother's own words is the impact the simple donation of Giants tickets made in this girl's life.

"We thought we would surprise Amelia with tickets to the final home game. She has been corresponding with the team a bit via encouraging signs and notes she sends them. They in turn surprised us all by emailing to invite her to be a part of the year end celebrations! She was asked to help present one of the 3-star awards to her hockey hero, Ty Ronning! She was so nervouscited (as she calls it) but she challenged herself to do it and it was a big success. They announced her name and she was on the big screen with a huge grin on her face. Ty bent down to whisper something to her but she was so nervous that she completely forgot what he had said. The team captain has officially dubbed her, "sign girl!" which makes her really feel like part of the team. She showed up with shiny new signs and enjoyed being punny.

Friday was a huge night for her and I thought you all might like to hear how much she has accomplished in one short hockey season.

Thank you all for being a HUGE part of this journey."

This girl is so into hockey that she started playing during breaks at school and after school with the Boys and Girls Club. She says she wants to be the first girl Canuck, and we think with her enthusiasm and dedication to hockey, she's well on her way and we'll be seeing her on Hockey Night In Canada in no time!

We can't thank the Vancouver Giants enough for donating tickets to us and to the players for being so gracious and generous with their time to get to know this girl. It's truly made a giant difference in her life.
Generous Donations

We planned our trip and when speaking with the WestJet representative she made the flight planning straight-forward and actually booked us in the best economy seats for our flights!
