1 : 1 MENTORING PROGRAMS

Big Brothers

The Big Brothers mentoring program provides youth with a role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. Through regular outings, a relationship is developed, which is built on trust and common interests, and is supported by our experienced case-workers. The result is a life-changing experience for both the mentor and the mentee.

IN SCHOOL MENTORING

Our In-School Mentoring program provides elementary students with a teenage or adult role model to talk to and share the experiences of growing up with. For one hour a week, mentors meet with their mentee and engage in activities such as board games, crafts or just hang out on the playground. Mentoring sessions take place during school hours and on school grounds.

GROUP MENTORING PROGRAMS

Go Girls!

Go Girls! is a group mentoring program for female-identifying youth in grades 4 -7 (age requirement may vary depending on location of program) that focusses on physical activity, balanced eating and self-esteem. The single, most important goal of the program is to positively shape the lives of young people by helping them build a positive self-image – setting them on a path to reach their full potential in life.

Go Girls sessions are held after school for 2 hours, and are once a week for 8 weeks.

School’s Out EXPLORATIONS

Children who participate in the School’s Out Explorations program have a chance to explore different creative outlets and try new things, such as sports, science experiments, arts & crafts, group games, baking, etc.  Mentors from the Langley community provide a safe and fun atmosphere to assist children in trying new things & building their skills through interactive learning and demonstrations. Participants will have a chance to enhance their skills and learning about a variety of exploration areas while also working on group dynamics, making new friendships, and enjoying a snack break with peers and leaders!

GAME ON!

Game On! is a group mentoring program that provides male-identifying youth in grades 4 – 7 (age requirement may vary depending on location of program) with information and support to make informed choices about a range of healthy lifestyle practices.
